From Henry Woodhouse Archive, 1919 post-WWI era photo of Admiral David Beatty (1st Earl Beatty) and his son, David Beatty (2nd Earl Beatty) aboard the Queen Elizabeth, flagship of Great Britain’s Grand Fleet. In this 1919 photo, son David was given the rank of midshipman. Dated July 9, 1919.
Period description sheet:

FOLLOWING HIS DAD’S FOOTSTEPS – ADMIRAL REATTY OF BRITISH NAVY AND HIS SON. Admiral Sir David Betty and his son, David, on the deck of H.M.S. Queen Elizabeth, flagship of Great Britain’s Grand Fleet.”
Adm. Beatty’s naval accomplishments are many and there have been several books written about him. The family (his parents, himself, and his son pictured here) has quite a colorful marriage history for the day! His son, pictured here, was  married 4 times.

Aerial Age
